A ride to a nationwide gathering ended with arrests and their bikes being impounded for at least 15 suspected members of an outlawed motorcycle gang.

Law enforcement officials say members of the Mongols motorcycle club refused to stop and were consequently arrested on suspicion of failing to yield and their bikes were impounded as they rode through Temecula.

The group were heading to a nationwide gathering at the La Jolla Indian Reservation campgrounds. California's attorney general has designated the Mongols as an outlaw biker gang.

The motorcycle club gained notoriety after a 2002 fight between Mongols and Hells Angels in Laughlin, Nev., which resulted in the deaths of three bikers.
