As the Laconia Motorcycle Week kicks off it's 85th anniversary, Harley-Davidson is promising a line-up of events.

Harley-Davidson has a host of exciting events planned for the Laconia Motorcycle Week in Laconia, N.H. from June 17 - 21, 2008 that include the following highlights:

  • Product displays and experts for the 2008 line-up of Harley-Davidson motorcycles, along with the latest Genuine Motor Accessories and MotorClothes Merchandise.

  • Demo rides provide the chance to test ride any number of Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Rides are free, but participants must bring a valid motorcycle license, wear a D.O.T. approved helmet and eye protection, and sign a release form.

  • The Harley-Davidson Traveling Museum featuring unique displays of vintage Harley-Davidson products and memorabilia.

  • Enter the Harley-Davidson Ride-In Custom Bike Show June 19, 2008 in the Train Station parking lot in downtown Laconia. Awards include $250 cash prize in 13 judging classes.

The Laconia Motorcycle Week is a Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) pin stop.

Be sure to meet Harley-Davidson staff members and executives, including Dave Cotteleer, Director of Indirect Procurement and Skip Metz, Chief Powertrain Engineer.

The Harley-Davidson Festival at Laconia Motorcycle Week is located at Laconia City Hall in Downtown Laconia, N.H.

Additional information on the Laconia Motorcycle Week and other events throughout the year is available at
Harley-Davidson's website.

Verizon Wireless is beefing up network capacity as New Hampshire's Lakes Region shifts into high gear for the 85th anniversary of Laconia Motorcycle Week. The company has activated a temporary cell to accommodate an anticipated increase in wireless usage as tourists and motorcyclists converge on the area from June 14-22.

The Cell on Wheels (COW) is a mobile cell site that enhances wireless capacity -- allowing more customers to concurrently place calls, exchange messages, and download content. Verizon Wireless maintains a fleet of portable transmitters to support its network when highly populated events or weather disasters stimulate increased wireless voice and data usage.

"The presence of a mobile COW will enhance our network capacity as motorcyclists make their annual pilgrimage to Laconia," said Richard Enright, director of network performance for Verizon Wireless New England. "We're constantly investing, engineering and deploying resources to stay ahead of the growing demand for our products and services."
