Incredible Custom Bike Heads to Amazing Motorcycle Event

A remarkable custom bike to be featured at one of Europe’s leading events is already capturing the imagination of motorcycle enthusiasts worldwide.

Coming from Urban Motor, a Berlin-based independent custom bike builder, ‘Easy Like Sunday Morning’ will be featured at the highly popular Glemseck 101 international motorcycle event. Held each year in Leonberg, a town about 10 miles west of Stuttgart, the rally draws its name from the Glems River which runs through the historic town.

Celebrating its twelfth year, the ‘Spirit of the 101’ has evolved and has established itself firmly in the German and European motorcycle scene. Taking place over three days, Glemseck 101 regularly draws nearly 100,000 visitors and many of those will certainly be drawn to the latest creation from Urban Motor.

Bringing together an air of ‘steampunk’ and an ultra-thin profile, ‘Easy Like Sunday Morning’ entices bikers to its saddle not for performance, but the riding experience itself. Based on a classic 1964 Jawa 350 two-stroke twin engine, the covered frame’s metallic surface is exaggerated by the lack of headlights, turn signals or any of the legally required bits and pieces normally seen on a motorcycle. Its alloy bodywork was crafted in collaboration with marvin diehl of krt, who also created its unique handlebars with integrated front suspension design, hidden behind the graceful alloy silhouette.

The creation blends old school with new design. This is seen in a new jikov carburetor upgrading the engine, a pair of elegant exhausts that wrap beneath the engine and a single rear-drum-brake to stop the motorcycle. A pair of huge 23 inch wheels serve as symmetrical bookends.

As shown in the photographs, the riding position makes the biker squeeze as much as they can from the small engine by laying on the custom machine. Devoid of surface features, the small, brown leather saddle pops more than its small size has any right to.

‘Easy Like Sunday Morning’ will be seen in person at the Glemseck 101 international motorcycle event taking place from September 1st through the 3rd at Leonberg in Germany.
