World Ducati Week 2016 - Full 3 Day Program Revealed

With less than two weeks until Italian motorcycle manufacturer kicks off its World Ducati Week celebrations, the long list of events and two-wheeled distractions for Ducati fans have been brought together.

Both the event and its celebrations were highlighted in a press release held by Ducati, essentially kicking off the short-term kick-off clock. World Ducati Week, or WDW2016 as the upcoming version is also known as, will be held at the ‘Marco Simoncelli’ Misano World Circuit from July 1st to 3rd.

As an interesting side note, Ducati’s event will be the world's first sustainable ISO 20121-certified motorcycling event, and to prove it, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer have released the certificate stating such.

However, something that couldn’t be considered as anything other than an incredible opportunity will be not only the unveiling of a special Ducati 90th Anniversary edition at tWDW2016, but an exclusive ‘closed room’ to allow event-goers a preview of one of the new 2017 motorcycles.

And that could be a crowded room. Thousands of Ducatisti will come from all corners of the world to celebrate their shared motorcycle passion. The last time Ducati held its World Ducati Week in 2014, some 65,000 riders attended the event. Add the 90th celebration of the famous brand and new records are sure to be set.

The latest edition of WDW offers a packed program of events, parties, bike parades, shows, concerts and on-track races with today’s Ducati MotoGP/Superbike riders.

The WDW2016 enjoys the subtitle of ‘More than Red’, highlighting both Ducati’s long-standing commitment to the sports motorcycle world as well as the new models for new segments.

For those not keeping up, these new models would be the XDiavel, the new Ducati cruiser, the Multistrada 1200 Enduro and the new Scrambler Sixty2, three recent additions to the Ducati range that all WDW2016 participants can “experience” in truly unique ways.

An example of this would be the ‘Gentleman's Lounge’, dedicated to the XDiavel and what Ducati is calling a ‘uniquely refined technology and mind-blowing performance’. There will also be plenty of space dedicated to the Multistrada 1200 Enduro, which will include giving participants a taste of the new Ducati off-road riding school.

Speaking of which, the Multistrada 1200 Enduro will be the model used for ‘Globetrotter 90’, the symbolic around the world bike trip to celebrate Ducati’s 90th anniversary, with a route visiting all the places that played a part in the most important moments of the company’s history.

Ducati’s Scrambler will enjoy its own area with its own color with the new Sixty2 and Flat Track Pro models being found in the unmistakable ‘yellow zone’ and called the Land of Joy. This area will offers a host of activities including a climbing walls, basketball games and non-stop music with the Scrambler Music Marathon put on by Ducati employees and their band, the Barber Shop.

Those attending on Friday will enjoy the Aquafan, the final destination for the thousands of bikes that will roar out of the circuit to Riccione and the fun-fueled Scrambler Party. With water slides, swimming pools, a ‘foam party’ and great music from the ’90s, this event is open to all WDW2016 participants, but those wanting to go should go online for details.

Ducati's technical partner, Shell Advance, is also the ‘title sponsor’ of the eagerly awaited “Drag Race by Shell Advance” being held on Saturday evening. Shell will have its own dedicated area offering great entertainment and a superb DJ set.

As reported here, on Saturday 2 July the Santamonica stadium in Misano Adriatico will reverberate to the sound of Italian rocker Piero Pelù, presenting a two-hour injection of pure energy for everyone at World Ducati Week.

As mentioned earlier, this edition of World Ducati Week coincides with the 90th anniversary of Italian motorcycle manufacturer. To mark this event, Ducati’s museum will re-open its doors after months of renovations.

The entertainment isn’t limited to motorcycles however. Four-wheeled thrills will also be available courtesy of Audi and Lamborghini with everyone getting the chance to enjoy a hair-raising high speed lap of the track alongside a professional racing driver. Volkswagen Business vehicles will also be joining us, displaying an exclusive version of the Transporter for Ducatisti and all other motorcycling enthusiasts.
