Lone Star Rally Prepares A Texas Welcome For Bikers

The Texas coastal city of Galveston is readying for its moment in the country’s motorcycle spotlight as the Lone Star Rally rides closer.

In just over a week, organizers expect 250,000 motorcycles and a total of 500,000 people over the four days the Lone Star Rally takes place. Celebrating its fifteenth year, the rally promises concerts, attractions, exhibits and vendors with Galveston’s historic downtown area taking a starring role.

The 15th Anniversary Lone Star Rally is presented by Geico Motorcycle and sponsored in part by the Houston Area Chevy Dealers. This year’s rally will feature more than 40 free concerts day and night on two sound stages, with acts scheduled from noon on Thursday through Sunday evening.

Considered the biggest motorcycle rally in Texas, the Lone Star Rally kicks into gear early on Thursday, November 3rd with a jam packed day of activities beginning with the ‘Run Down the Shore ride’.

Looking to the concert stage, Uncle Kracker headlines the opening day, Canadian rockers Loverboy headline Night 2 on Friday, which also includes tribute bands performing the greatest hits of AC/DC and Kid Rock. Badlands, founded by former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Jake E. Lee and Black Sabbath alum Eric Singer and Ray Gillen, headlines Saturday night's concerts. Organizers will offer the event’s own version of rally favorite past times such as custom bike shows, Bike Rodeo Games and the annual Outlaw Dave’s Charity Ranch Ride. The center of activity is The Strand and across town at Beach Central Park, a second concert stage offers entertainment throughout the weekend along with bike displays, bike shows and one-of-a-kind vendors.

The Beach Central Stage will welcome longtime rally favorites Jasmine Cain, Jared Blake and Ryan Rolando for multiple shows along with two badass rock tributes by Hairball Band on Friday and Saturday nights. A host of fresh new acts are coming to the Lone Star Rally this year including 90 Proof Twang, Judge Parker, South Bound Train and Doublewide presented by Outlaw Nation.

The incredible numbers expected to attend the Lone Star Rally has prompted local safety officials to produce a Public Service Announcement highlighting the event and encouraging local resident to be considerate of visiting bikers.
