If any bikers within riding distance of Southern California follow the two-wheeled traffic over the next few days, they may well find themselves at the Progressive International Motorcycle Show (IMS), kicking off its nationwide tour with its debut in Long Beach California. This motorcycle event circuit starts a road trip that heads to New York City with stops in Washington D.C., Dallas, Cleveland, Minneapolis and Chicago.
For the first time on the IMS circuit, Indian Motorcycle will show off the Chieftain Dark Horse, its blacked-out bagger, Indian Springfield, considered the pure essential touring machine and the award-winning Indian Scout available in a variety of two-tone colors. New to the line-up and catching the interest of riders, Indian’s Ride Command which is being called the industry’s most advanced and user-friendly infotainment system which is available on 2017 Indian Chieftain and Roadmaster models.
This new technology, featuring the industry’s largest, fastest and most customizable display, can be found at the Indian Motorcycle booth along with the entire 2017 Indian Motorcycle lineup. Also on display, the one-of-a-kind Scout FTR750 flat track race bike which is part of Indian Motorcycle’s historic return to Flat Track Racing.
Attendees have an opportunity to meet the man lucky enough to ride the motorcycle competitively with Indian Motorcycle Racing’s “Flyin” Bryan Smith appearing from 6pm – 7pm on Friday November 18.
Authentic Indian Motorcycle apparel, accessories and gifts will be on-display and available for purchase and featuring special incentives. To mark these opportunities, each show in Long Beach will start with a tee-shirt giveaway in Long Beach. Additionally, Indian Motorcycle owners can receive a special gift by simply showing their key fob or a photo of them and their bike.
Knowing demo rides are a must-have at these type of motorcycle events, attendees can test ride the all-new 2017 Indian Motorcycle lineup including a selection of accessorized models. Demos will be offered on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. in the Long Beach Convention Center parking lot. All riders must present a valid motorcycle endorsement. Riders and passengers must be 18 or older and wear proper riding attire that includes a DOT approved helmet, closed-toe shoes, long pants and eye protection.
Working with its corporate siblings, Indian, Victory and Slingshot will be supporting the Beautiful Bikers Conference, a celebration of women who love the ride, which takes place at the Courtyard Marriott Long Beach concurrent to the motorcycle show. On Friday Nov. 18, registration runs 12pm - 4pm, followed by The Ground Pounders Block Party from 5pm - 8pm.
