Clutch and Chrome looked at the much-talked about ‘Augmented Reality’ motorcycle helmet last week as a series of press releases and technical papers became reality with the latest biker gear preparing to ship. In that report, a slew of summer special promotions were promised and as with the helmet itself, Skully has delivered on these as well.
The summer promotion comes hand-in-hand with the company's recent ramping up of its mass production and shipping lines. The sales campaign features free shipping of up to $250 on all purchases within the continent of the US including Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico.
A second promotion is a special Group-Order Discount of 10% on a purchase of two or more AR-1's.
"With mass production in full swing, we're eager to get as many AR-1 Units on the road as possible,” Carlos Rodriguez, who leads Product and Marketing at SKULLY, commented. “Motorcycle groups have been reaching out to us for months and we're thrilled that we're now at the point where we can support them with special offers.”
If riders are asking themselves, why this helmet? The AR-1 is the first augmented reality motorcycle helmet of its kind, featuring a built-in 180 degree Blindspot Camera and Heads-up Display that presents real-time information for unparalleled situational awareness and safety.
It includes a GPS system, an all-weather photochromic visor that automatically darkens in sunlight, and a bluetooth enabled synapse sound system.
Currently, the AR-1 has a MSRP of $1499.00 and is available in either matte black or gloss white.
The summer special for the AR-1 starts Wednesday, June 22, 2016 and run for the next 90 days. The company notes, military riders have expressed a high level of interest in the new Skully helmet.
“They were instrumental in our early success and understand all too well the safety implications of the AR-1,” Rodriguez notes, “These limited time promotions are our way of saying thank you for all of the ongoing support."
